GM Poles Pty Ltd is a privately owned and operated Australian Company specialising in fabricated steel columns for use in lighting, signage, communication and surveillance applications.

Our experience in design, manufacture, distribution and installation of steel tubular structures spans over 100 years between the senior staff of GM Poles. The two founders of GM Poles previously held positions as State Managers of the two largest pole companies in Australia, being BHP Civil Products (Polo) and Riverton Engineering (now Ingal EPS). The merging of these two companies in 1997 created a monopoly holding 70% of the Australian pole market. Invariably this created an opening for a new competitor, hence the creation of GM Poles Pty Ltd was established in March 1998.

GM Poles Pty Ltd, with its International Quality Assurance status to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 and partnership with its suppliers and subcontractors, provides the security and manufacturing ability far beyond any other specialised pole manufacturing facility in Australia.

GM Poles Engineering experience and capabilities are unmatched in the Australian pole manufacturing industry. Our engineering team comprises mechanical, structural and civil engineers and an industrial designer.

GM Poles utilises PoleCAD design software - the leading engineering software for the design of steel poles for the Australian, New Zealand and South East Asian region as well as a suite of Autodesk products incorporating the leading three dimensional modelling packages. GM Poles also uses three dimensional structural engineering analysis and finite element analysis software to accurately model complex and unique products. These resources enable GM Poles to quickly produce products certified to comply with relevant regulations and our customer’s specific requirements.
